We finally have official images of the new Power Rangers Lighting Collection two packs and Deluxe Monster Packs. Looking at them, I have some thoughts. The Power Rangers: In Space set is nice and has all the bells and whistles– both figures are well done and have hair that can be color changed later for single carded figures later. SPD set just brings us down a new rabbit hole for more SPD and the ideal that we can have a A-Squad full team of figures some day.
Deluxe Monster Packs
The real powerhouse here are the Deluxe Villain Packs. These are amazing and what I hope is a lasting trend in villains for the line. King Sphinx is a very big new body with a much larger wing radius over Goldar. Other than main bosses and foot troopers we finally get villains for the line. This has always been a weak point in the Power Rangers toy lines. Lots and lots of Power Rangers but never any real bad guys for the line to fight.
What they need to release is a Megazord in the 6 inch scale so that you can relive Megazord vs Monster fights. One note about Pumpkin rapper is that his head is missing a paint app. They did not learn from the Dino Thunder white debacle and left out the most important paint app again. I hope this is fixed but seeing how they never fixed Dino White until fan outrage, I doubt it despite them having a much higher price point on the villains. To leave off such a important paint app is very disappointing.
Power Rangers In Space Red Ranger VS Astronema
This 6-inch Lightning Collection Versus 2-pack features action figures with premium paint and decorative details inspired by the show and over 20 points of articulation in each figure for high poseability.
