Red Dawn was a coming of age story where the US was invaded by Russia and Cuba. This was a real fear in the 80s folks. A bunch of kids banded together to fight a Guerrilla war against the red menace. As a kid, we played this out in the back yard. We screamed out the war call, Wolverines! and chased down the poor kid that was on the red faction– usually my cousin Clint, sorry man. This is an amazing time where we can get these lost to time properties made into the toys we would have liked as kids. That is the overall theme of the ReAction toy brand. That Fisher Price Adventure People / Kenner Star Wars style action figure that is timeless. These guys can seamlessly merge into your toy box.
For the record, and you don’t have to look it up, here is the cast: Jed is Patrick Swayze his brother Matt was Charile Sheen and Erica was Lea Thompson and to be a totally video snob Bella was Ron O’Neal aka Super Fly from the 70s.
