Here Comes the Pain: Hasbro Unveils Latest Frustrating Walgreens Exclusive Marvel Legends Figure

Here we go again.

Hot on the heels of the Dani Moonstar (a figure which included two extra character heads, allowing fans to use the figure as fellow New Mutants Wolfsbane and Karma, ensuring most would want to buy three) Hasbro is set to frustrate collectors again with their latest reveal: the Stepford Cuckoos figure.

The Cuckoos (Celeste Cuckoo, Esme Cuckoo, Irma “Mindee” Cuckoo, Phoebe Cuckoo, and Sophie Cuckoo) are grown from ova cells harvested from telepath and then Hellfire Club member Emma Frost while she lay comatose after a Sentinel attack that killed her students, the Hellions. Originally, there were five (eventually cut to three) meaning fans will want to army-build the characters… which would be fine if they weren’t going to Walgreens, a store whose slapdash, garbage-tier distribution rivals Wal-Mart.

The figure is nicely done, and includes extra heads allowing you to give Irma and Phoebe the individual looks they eventually decided on in the comics. It’s sure to please X-Men fans who have long wanted these characters represented in plastic form… if they can find them without having to resort to the wretched hive of scum and villainy that is E-Bay.

I’m appreciative of all of the diverse corners of the Marvel Universe we’re seeing represented in action figure form… but for the love of Stan Lee, guys… stop giving army-builders out as retailer exclusives!
