Joe’s desert conflicts, the VAMP Mark II is revved up and ready to achieve victory over Cobra. four-wheeled vehicles he can get his hands on. “He greases his hair with motor oil, rarely shaves, and chews on the same toothpick for months. G.I. Joe Classified Series #213, James “Grand Slam” Barney & H.A.L. (Heavy Artillery Laser)
Grand Slam’s ability to plot trajectories is exceptional. He can set up H.A.L. (Heavy Artillery Laser) to “soften up” the enemy, cause general confusion, or destroy entrenched fortifications.
Code Name: Grand Slam
File Name: Barney, James
Primary Specialty: Artillery
Secondary Specialty: Electronics Engineer
Birthplace: Chippewa Falls, WI
Grand Slam is familiar with most indirect fire weapons and their various capabilities. He positions himself at the front edge of battle or behind enemy lines, to observe Cobra forces and call back to the team with target locations. From mortars to howitzer, grenade launchers to anti-tank guns, Grand Slam knows each weapon’s firing range and operation. His ability to estimate distance and plot trajectories is exceptional. He can set up just the right artillery attack to “soften up” the enemy, cause general confusion or destroy entrenched fortifications. He’s fascinated with artillery of the past and has built miniature versions of catapults and trebuchets, experimenting with them on team members who don’t mind being bombarded with a volley of small stones and stale bread rolls.
“He’s soft-spoken and calm—just a bit shy. Intelligent. Loves to read escapist fantasy (science fiction and comic books).”
Don’t miss your chance to own a modern iteration of an iconic classic. The first Grand Slam figure was part of the first series of Real American Hero figures that dropped in 1982 with the impressive H.A.L. laser cannon.
