It’s a typewriter! That’s what was in the Nacelle Toys “box” when CEO Brian Volk-Weiss opened it this morning. Why is this the best news of Toy Fair? It means the biggest Trek toy void is about to be filled.

The typewriter is a replica of the one on which Lucille Ball wrote this letter to Gene Roddenberry:

Its reveal in toy form tells us that the mysterious 2-pack will be Gene Roddenberry and Lucille Ball in action figure form. You may recall that Palisades prototyped, but never made, a Gene Roddenberry action figure in the early ’00s, but that’s the only hint of a plastic Great Bird of the Galaxy that we ever got. Now, it’s official: not only do we get Gene, but the woman who saved Star Trek herself, Lucy.

While no prototypes have been shown yet, these figures will round out Wave 3 (can you believe we’re already up to THREE!?) of Nacelle’s brilliant Trek toys. If you’re a Trekkie like me (and Brian!), you’re on the edge of your (center) seat in anticipation!
