Hasbro Debuts New Toys at Exclusive Event

Til All Are One!

The HasLab Ghostbusters Ectomobile. New Star Wars. New Transformers. Hasbro invited Toy Wizards to an exclusive breakfast event just a few blocks from where they revealed it all at New York Comic Con. You may have seen Hasbro’s press images, but you haven’t seen these toys until you’ve seen them up close. Let’s take a look!

These Marvel Legends Secret Wars figures wow’d when they premiered, and here they are in fully-posed glory!
In the brand’s Star Wars sector, I was most excited about Clone Commander Cody. His Black Series figure features a removable helmet that is NOT an interchangeable head, but an accessory the figure can wear.
Here are some upcoming Vintage Collection offerings.
Hasbro’s Transformers selection includes a pretty exciting retro Bumblebee.
This Bumblebee is way more cartoon accurate in alt mode than the Studio Series ’86 figure. They really captured that VW Bug look!
The incoming Studio Series Galvatron is, essentially, a repaint of the Legacy.
If you’re into the transformable vehicles from non-Transformers properties, the Mandalorian/Starfighter combo will surely delight.
I’m not the hugest Dark of the Moon fan, but this toy is great. We just don’t get animal-like robots enough.
It’s another repaint (essentially), but the colors are fun.
Here’s a better look at the War for Cybertron Skywarp, glimpsed earlier.
This really gives you a sense of how that Dark of the Moon Studio Series Transformer expands as it transforms.
There were some new G.I. Joe Classified series figures on display, including Dr. Mindbender – a fan favorite.
Dialtone and Leatherneck are also excellent additions to the line.
Here’s a close-up of Leatherneck.
I really loved this Viper – the red and blue just pop.
Here’s another look at that Viper.
Magic and Marvel are working together to roll out new sets featuring the comic book publisher’s characters. I thought this Storm was especially cool. The cards, on the whole, feel reminiscent of Overpower cards – a good thing in my book!
But of course, the centerpiece of the event was the HasLab Ghostbusters Plasma Series Ectomobile.
It comes with all four original Ghostbusters in these suits.
You get some ghosts, too…
Including everyone’s favorite.
The Ectomobile lights up in several places! The HasLab will cost about $324, which pays for the figures, detailed car, and the electronics.
You get plasma beam effects for the figures – don’t cross the streams!

Unseen were the X-Men Animated Sentinel and the Studio Series Devastator. Devastator will be revealed at Hasbro’s 10/27 online event, though, so it shouldn’t be too long to wait. Though a small event, Hasbro packed a lot in. With new product in essentially all of the brand’s legacy properties, there should be something for every collector!
