Excalibur was one of the most under rated of the X-Men Books. The Original Alan Davis run was a continuation of the Captain Britain Marvel UK line. This was not seen over here until a trade decades later. I was able to collect the UK copies from my Local Comics & Comix at K Street in Sacramento. The shop is now a liquor store but still have the giant comic heroes and villains mural by Tim Vigil in the back if you look.
Back to Excalibur for a moment– this series is beyond the pale with excitement and fun and its finally got its due with this box set except the X-Men logo on the front. This was done so mom and dad know its X-Men related and buy it off the shelf– too many people would see the words Excalibur and go “Excalibur? What is that?” We have a couple of Nightcrawler choices out there so a Rachel Summers figure is next on the list to complete this dream team.
