You need the Super Shogun Optimus Prime By Super7 and here’s why

Here is a project very close and dear to my heart. Super7 Super Shogun figures. I was introduced to Shogun Warriors back in 1980 and it was the Christmas of Christmases. I got Great Mazinger and my brother got Godzilla. I even had a dream the night before I got the two shoguns and woke up to them under the tree. Yeah, I kinda took my brother’s Godzilla over time. This was the moment I fell down the rabbit hole into robot crazy and never looked up. That being said, I have collected Jumbo Machinders ever since.

This Jumbo Machinder or Super Shogun by Super7 is a love letter. This is a gift to us that embraces the style and look of the old 1970s Jumbo Machinders with so much love. Brian Flynn is a fan and enthusiast of the style and wanted to make something we never got. That is one of the driving points, if not mantras, of Super7. This passion and love is the only way we would get something like this today.

Super7 is excited and proud to introduce the addition of Super Shogun Optimus Prime to the Super Shogun world! Toy collectors will already know the influence and historical significance the Shoguns from Japan had in the 1970s and 1980s. Iconic characters like Mazinga to Raydeen profoundly inspired and influenced a generation of, not only toy fans, but also those of us who grew up to be toy makers like our Founder and Owner Brian Flynn.

This year is the 10th Anniversary of the original Super7 Shogun release. The Super Shogun Stormtrooper was a unique collaboration and was important not only because it was an amazing creation, but also because it was the first major release for our company. To mark this anniversary, Super7 could not think of a better iconic subject for a Super Shogun than TRANSFORMERS Optimus Prime!

Optimus Prime will be blow molded polyethylene just like the original Shogun Warriors of the 1970s. This is not a high tolerance manufacturing process, meaning it’s an unbelievably difficult and delicate process. It’s not an exaggeration to say simply no one is making things using this process anymore. The same design and craftsmanship that made that release legendary is now being applied to the Super Shogun TRANSFORMERS Optimus Prime

At Super7, our manifesto is We grew up with giant monsters, comic books, punk, science fiction, skateboarding, robots and rebellion. No one made what we wanted. So we make it ourselves. This couldn’t be more true than for the Super Shogun TRANSFORMERS Optimus Prime.
