The holidays are quickly approaching, and for me, that brings a special type of collecting activity– pop culture advent calendar time! As a child with a fairly traditional Jewish upbringing, I knew many obvious facets of Christmas time delights and traditions as sung about in the songs, but somehow advent calendars passed me by.
