Kidrobot Reveals the Home Alone Collection

Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York are without a doubt two of my favorite movies of all time, Christmas films or otherwise. They are clever, fun, funny, contain two different versions of Marv, and have wonderful (like seriously gorgeous, I listen to it casually all the time) soundtracks by the legendary John Williams. And now on Kidrobot, they are celebrating these films with some pins and plush that harken back to these films and give us some great quotes and imagery.

The Good: These pins tap into some really great moments. I like how Marv has a chain with iron attachment and Harry has a chain with the paint bucket attachment. That is really fun. I love the Talk Boy pin (how has Hasbro not re-made this classic Tiger toy?) and the pins with the quotes from the film. Really fun stuff there. I also love how the Harry plush has the fire on its head– that moment where Harry’s head catches fire is my son’s favorite moment, so he was delighted to see it on this toy.

The Bad: God– fire your designer. I’ve seen fan-made pins that look better. This stylizing is terrible on both the pins and the plush. I hope they work for you, but they don’t work for me, and the thick lines and lack of nuance makes me not want to order them. Barkbox released a Home Alone box last year and their style was much more attractive. And those were meant to go in a dog’s mouth.

*That van toy kills me, I love it. Plus the Little Nero snacks and the “Look what you did you little jerky” treats? I’m laughing my ass off.*
