The year was 2019 and Toy Wizards broke the news that Iron Studios was releasing a line of statues from the 80s Dungeons and Dragons cartoon. And the people lost their damn minds, myself included. What we got was eight statues (all six main characters, The Dungeon Master, and Venger the Villain) each clocking in at about $109 a piece. Oof. Oof to the millionth power.
But you know what, I love this show. It has it all– distinct characters and 80s tropes of things happening for no reason. It has inspired some of my own writing– sure, it might be satirical writing in some cases but never the less, inspiration is there. Eric the Cavalier is my boy and Presto the Magician is perfection. I love so much about the 80s DnD cartoon. Plus, it was a Toei co-production so the animation actually looked good/consistent– it wasn’t just the opening theme luring you in!
Thought few things make me happier than “THE DND ROLLERCOASTER TOOK US TO THE REAL DND WORLD WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA”
So, why am I talking about these statues (again) today? Well, many of them are sold out and I don’t want you to miss your chance to own the last remaining three. Still in stock at Iron Studios, we have Hank The Ranger, Diana the Acrobat, and Sheila the Thief! Presto, Eric, Bobby, Dungeon Master, and Venger are sold out so unfortunately you can’t have a complete set, but at least you can have a neat threesome.
That came out wrong. Or really, really right. Choose your destiny, mighty warrior.
