Paul Tazewell has been designing costumes since just after he started playing with figures very much like these charming Hamilton Pin Mates®. Since moving from his toy chest to the Broadway stage he has become best known for his costume designs for Hamilton on Broadway, Disney+, national tours and productions in the UK and Australia. His Broadway career began with Bring In Da Noise, Bring In Da Funk in 1996. Recent Broadway credits include Ain’t Too Proud: The Life And Times Of The Temptations, In the Heights, The Color Purple, Memphis, Caroline or Change, Lombardi, Magic/Bird, and Summer: The Donna Summer Musical. For film Paul designed Harriet for Focus Features and Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story due in theaters in December 2021. For television Paul designed The Wiz! Live on NBC for which he received an Emmy Award® in 2016, Jesus Christ Superstar Live In Concert on NBC, and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks on HBO Films starring Oprah Winfrey. Paul has received 7 Tony nominations and was awarded the Tony Award for his costume design for Hamilton in 2016.
