On a personal note – I know the Walgreens exclusive MMPR Black Ranger that was released had the dragon shield, so purist fans might be happier. But for me with the Goldar, I’m not as into it without wings. I bought two of the GameStop exclusive Goldar figures with wings and I think he was perfect the way he was. And again, totally a personal opinion here with In Space Yellow’s civilian head, but woof. They botched that up real good. It looks nothing like Tracy Lynn Cruz.

They goofed that bad on the civilian head for Ashley (In Space Yellow)??? Not surprising. The Billy head looked more like Bill Gates than David Yost in MMPR Season 1 (it’s so bad, it looks like a cheap knockoff of the fairly hideous Billy head from the old Bandai America “Auto Morphin” series figure), the Zack head looked more like the comic version from Boom Studios than Walter Jones, and the Devon head for Beast Morphers Red ain’t that good a match to Rorrie Travis.
To be fair, they did knock it way outta the park with a few of’em: while the female molds are just as bad at standing & poses as Bandai’s Legacy Collection molds, MMPR Pink Ranger’s Kimberly head is my favorite one, the head sculpt is spot on Amy Jo Johnson. They also did pretty nicely with the Jack head for SPD Red, that’s spot on Brandon McLaren, dreads and all…which I ain’t think was a doable thing (and probably why Bandai didn’t have SPD on their radar for Legacy Collection). The Tommy head is okay, but they really should’ve had the split ponytail look with the White Ranger (akin to how Bandai did the MMPR 25th Anniversary S.H.Figuarts White Ranger)…as odds are, they’re just gonna recycle the existing one AGAIN for Zeo Ranger V.
