Akira is a benchmark of animation, the most famous anime of all time, and very likely the catalyst that shot Japanese animation to international reverence. The sheer number of colors and backgrounds for the movie is unbelievable. I was one of the few to see it first at Wonder Con in Oakland in 1988. I also had it on VHS tape later that same year, well before its official release.

I believe even compared to current animated films few can compare or even stand next to the awesome immensity of Akira, beyond me fan gushing over one of my most favorite films. We have found Akira shoes in multiple versions. They are on Animeape.com for $179.00 marked down to $109.00 and two at $89.00. Still kinda expensive but how many times do shoes like this come up?
