Best Buy may not be the first place you think of when it comes to toy shopping but their 2019 Holiday Guide has been released and there are some really fun surprises for toy fans young and old this year.
Let’s start with some choices for the littles on your list.
This season, it seems, no wishlist for kids will be complete without a mystery box. The two most popular this year are the Ryan’s World Series 3 Giant Surprise Egg is on sale now in the Best Buy online store at $33.99 and the L.O.L. Surprise Sparkle Series Doll for $10.99. While the L.O.L. Surprise “boasts a water surprise for unexpected emotions”– we have no idea — the Ryan’s World Egg comes with:
- 4 of 12 possible Mystery Tattoos
- 3 of 12 possible Mystery Stickers
- 2 of 12 possible Build-A-Ryan Mystery Figures
- 1 of 6 possible Puttys
- 2 of 12 possible Mystery Figures
- 1 of 6 possible Mystery Vehicles
- 1 of 8 possible Squishy Figures
With Frozen 2 hitting theaters at the end of November, Best Buy is coming prepared with everything for the Elsa and Anna fans in your life. The Frozen 2 Ultimate Arendelle Castle Playset is an impressive 4 feet wide and 5 feet tall replica that features lights, elevator and comes with a full set of furniture. For $199.99 (dolls sold separately, $14.99 each), it’s a truly impressive spectacle sure to put a smile on any Frozen fan’s face this holiday season.
And if you aren’t quite tired of hearing your child’s best rendition of “Let It Go” yet, the $49.99 Disney eKids MP3 Portable Karaoke System may be just what you’re looking for. On the other hand, if you’ve had enough of the timeless classic but your kiddo is still on a roll, you can add the Disney eKids Frozen 2 Wired On-Ear Headphones for $29.99. Best of both worlds.
Toy Story 4 was the blockbuster parents and children alike were waiting for, and the toys in this line are fantastic. All of the main characters from all four classic Disney films are available in 7-inch plastic posable figures for just $9.99. And for your little Space Ranger, the Disney Toy Story 4 Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Armor with Jetpack is perfect for imaginary play and on sale online now for just $44.99. To tell you the truth, I’m a little miffed this doesn’t come in adult sizes.
So let’s move on to some of the toys adults (namely this adult) can get excited about this Holiday Season, too!
Imaginary play isn’t just for kids and what could be more fun that reenacting your favorite dramatic moments from Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame? Enter the Marvel Studios’ Legends Series Avengers:Endgame Power Gauntlet marked down in the Best Buy online store now to just $70.99. That’s a $29.00 discount!
The Star Wars Lightsaber Academy Battling System Lightsaber teaches lightsaber technique through its app and allows you to spar with your friends as a Jedi or SIth. Each lightsaber is available for $49.99 and access to the app is free. Best Buy’s online store also carries Star Wars The Black Series Figures at the $19.99 retail price and LEGO kits including the New Millenium Falcon 75257 for $159.99, the LEGO Star Wars Resistance Y-Wing Starfighter 75249 on sale for $56.99 and (my personal favorite) the LEGO Star Wars Yoda 75255 for $99.99.
If your family isn’t into the whole front lawn post-holiday meal football game, perhaps an all-out Nerf war is more up your alley. Pick up the Nerf Fortnite TS Blaster for $39.99 or to really guarantee that your victor is a sure thing, the Nerf Ultra One Blaster is your go-to and will only set you back $49.99. A small price to pay for victory.
And just because they have added an awesome selection of toys doesn’t mean that Best Buy has forgotten its electronics specialty behind this Holiday Season.
With the November 15 release of Pokeman Sword and Shield ($59.99 each), the gamers in your life may want to give the new Nintendo Switch Lite a try. It comes in a variety of colors like teal, gray and yellow or the Pokeman Zacian and Zamazenta Edition and retails for $199.99.
Light versions of classic video game cabinets are having a real moment this year, and the Arcade1Up Deluxe 8-in-1 Head to Head Cocktail Table with Galaga and Pacman retailing for $499.99 is probably one of the coolest I’ve seen so far. This cabinet totally harkens back to good old 80s arcades and looks to be easily enjoyable by two players at the same time (as opposed to the TMNT cabinet which no four adults on earth could stand sid-by-side comfortably to play). And one more for the nostalgia gamers out there, the SEGA Genesis Mini Console will let you pick up your game right where you left off with titles including Altered Beast, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Streets of Rage 2 and, of course, Sonic the Hedgehog and more all for $79.99.
All-in-all it looks like Best Buy will have a little something for every toy and game lover on your list this year. And if you are looking to get a jump on your shopping, visit their website now for some incredible markdowns on LEGO, Disney and Star Wars toys. Ask anyone whose been trying to get through Halloween without seeing a Christmas meme: apparently, it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas!
