While there was and continues to be plenty of Super7 excitement happening at San Diego Comic-Con 2019, one of the highlight events that we Toy Wizards need to discuss is the ‘Good Grief’ Gift Shop pop up event.
Super7 has a brick and mortar store year round in San Diego, and for this year’s SDCC celebration, the incredible toy company knew that it was time to honor one of the most incredible franchises of all time, Peanuts with Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the gang.
While we will discuss Super7 in detail once we wrap up our SDCC coverage, we want to take a moment to give some love and attention to this charming, adorable, and really, ingenious store event.
The flagship event started on July 19th at 9pm and crowds were lined up for 2-3 hours to go inside the store and start getting their goodies. The selection was amazing, from a set of 6 ReAction figures featuring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy, Sally, Schroder, and Linus (I purchased the entire collection of the stylized little action figures). There were pint glasses (snagged those too) a Charlie Brown Convention Exclusive version of the ReAction Figure, Keshi toys, a life sized vinyl Snoopy, a tote bag, and shirts.
In addition to the amazing products and merchandise, which really speak for themselves and look better in person than they even do in photos, the store was set up so beautifully. Even the amazingly friendly and kind store employees admitted that the response exceeded their expectations. Sure, it had been crazy, and the insanity continues today on the final day of San Diego Comic-Con at Super7’s San Diego store, but it goes without saying that this toy company is crushing it. According to store manager TJ Shevlin, people are really enjoying and embracing the Super7 brand right now more than ever.
Rightfully so– we Wizards over here love Super7! Get down to the ‘Good Grief’ pop up gift shop now before San Diego-Comic Con is over!
