JAKKS Pacific Shows Off Three New Aladdin Toys, In Stores Now

JAKKS Pacific, the children-centric toy company that got suckered into creating new toys for the newest live action Disney movie that fans of flawless, breathtaking, classic 2D animation are dreading, announce three items that we are sure to see on the ROSS discount shelves within the next three months.

It’s a whole new world of something, indeed.

Okay, okay, I’ll cut the snark. I’ll admit it, I’m a cranky lady baby who saw the original Aladdin in theaters when I was seven, and to this day, it stands as my favorite Disney movie. With that, I’m not such a cynic that I think there isn’t room for today’s actual children to possibly enjoy the new live action Aladdin film. However, I still predict the discount shelf for these, which is the exact fate the Beauty and the Beast live action toys received. And let’s be direct– those toys were ugly.

First up on JAKKS’ list is the lamp itself. This toy looks pretty straight forward and fun for role playing or make believe. No MSRP has been announced.

Next is the item I know we will see for discount first. I think it’s a jewelry or storage box from the Whole New World sequence. And you know why this will be first on the trash shelves? Because it has the actors on it in their live action depictions. I’m going to be so bold as to say ‘nobody wants these’, and depending on how many hate letters I receive, we will see whether or not I’m correct.

Last but not least comes what might be the most useful product from JAKKS Pacfic’s Aladdin line. You might see tea set– I see a way to drink my tears of lament that Robin Williams’ Genie got replaced.

Or you know…obligatory booze joke.

Toy collecting is subjective, after all.
