Let me tell you how limited Sailor Moon toys were back when I was a kid.
Today’s selections are nothing short of amazing.
From S.H. Figurarts and little chibi petit chara, to legitimate fashion and apparel, right up to props of mind-blowing quality, today’s Sailor Moon fans has so many options available to them that going broke is completely inevitable, even if some of these teased items were never made.
And hey– when all funds fail, at least we have bootlegs.
Coming soon, May 2019 from Bandai, to be exact, are two new items in the Sailor Moon merchandise lineup.
First up, from the Petit Chara line comes a two-pack of Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) and her pink-haired future daughter Chibiusa. The two of them are from the Yukata line, the name of the traditional Japanese robe they’re wearing, and these two are nothing short of adorable. With an MSRP of $37.00, this twosome is a limited edition web-only product and is, of course, officially licensed from Bandai.
As for the second item, this sexy number is nothing short of spectacular. It is a ‘clip case’, which is a cute name for ponytail holder box, that is modeled after Neo Queen Serenity’s tiara.
I can’t breathe. I can’t breathe. How am I going to figure out a way to get this little number to balance on my overblown head?
With an MSRP of $129.74 (real specific number, I know), this beautiful jewelry/hair tie box is making me drool. Bandai, I don’t know why you would do this to me when all I want to do is wear this beautiful crown. Gold plated with faux pearls and rubies, this box is one of those items that we looked at when watching Sailor Moon in the 90s and knew we had to get married one day just so we could have Queen, Princess, and Neo Queen Serenity dresses and accessories on.
Hopefully there are some Sailor Starlight toys coming through the pipeline next. I purchased the Sailor Star Maker plush from Great Eastern the moment it was available on Amazon. Finally, as of a few months ago, the Sailor Star Fighter plush showed up, but we’re left waiting for the Sailor Star Healer. Hopefully, with Sailor Stars coming to home video (dubbed for the first time) by VIZ Media in May, 2019, we will see some new Sailor Starlight proplica and items as well.
But in the meanwhile, I’ll tape that tiara to my head so hard.
