Let’s Talk about Masters of the Universe Revelation

The war for Eternia begins again in what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor in a new animated series from writer-director Kevin Smith.

A radical return to Eternia, Revelation is a direct sequel series to the classic era of Masters of the Universe. Featuring fan-favorites He-Man, Orko, Cringer and Man-At-Arms, the story pits our heroic warriors and guardians of Castle Grayskull against Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man and the vile legions of snake mountain!

But after a ferocious final battle forever fractures Eternia, it’s up to Teela to solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to prevent the end of the Universe! Her journey will uncover the secrets of Grayskull at last. This is the epic He-Man and the Masters of the Universe saga fans have waited 35 years to see!

That’s all we really know about the story other than a very stellar cast. The toys however we have had several glimpses of a couple now we also have packaging images. The toys themselves are a departure from the classic 5.5 inch retro styled Masters of the Universe Origins we have on the shelves now. They are also not the Mattel or Super7 Classics line type. The best way we could talk about them is they are a combination of Mattel’s DC superhero line and the older 200X styles combined in one. The packaging is lackluster compared to the vintage cardiac designs or the deluxe boxes from the Classics line. Price points are still uncertain however the costs for figures have skyrocketed post COVID and the cost of shipping has doubled in the last three months alone. So expect $25-30 for each for sub classics standard figures.

The series itself will be the deciding factor here. If it is a hit with diehard fans then the toys will sell out. If it disappoints fans they will be shelf warmers. These days it is really hard for a toy line, any toy line, to stay on the shelf unless you’re the Ghostbusters– what the hell happened there? The Origins line and Mini line both have been selling out at a rapid pace. He-Mainia is back in the fandom for adult collectors.
