Super7’s Snake Mountain is Arriving, it is Glorious, and Here Is Why

For a long time now one small toy company has fought the odds on every level in order to make the toys they always wanted. Snake Mountain is the pinnacle of that goal. Have no misunderstanding this is an incredible accomplishment. This project was not crowdfunded like Hasbro does. This was produced by the best model out there “Made To Order”. Super7 has been pioneering this “Made To Order” model for some time now. And it has been booed and cursed out ever since. Super7 has its preorders window open for one month– and that’s it. Whatever that quantity ordered is, the window closes and that’s the number of units made.

This process is long and has delays. Why is that? Because unlike Hasbro or Mattel, you know when the process starts and you as the consumer are kept in the loop if any issues that come up. That angers a lot of people to not just have something in their hands right now. The time it takes from when a project is started to landed and shipped is considerable. Not to mention the new delays of 2020, COVID means it is even longer to get something.

This process used to just be magic– you would go into a store and toys would be there every time. That is no longer the way it works. Nine times out of ten I walk in and walk out of a store empty handed. It is no longer what am I going to buy, it is do they have anything that I want to buy. These issues have been complicated even more by COVID and the fact everyone can not go out, so what do they do? They buy things toys are bought up in greater numbers but where not made in the numbers to match the new demands.

This just isn’t toys– I was in a plant store and they where talking about how every week they sell out of stock. Stock of house plants are selling out. Why? Because people have fewer things to do. We are not going to sporting events, movies, or even out to eat. We are buying things– lots of things.

This means some toys are selling out as soon as they hit shelves. Super7’s “Made To Order” model fights the instant sell out to bots and scalpers. If you want one or 20 all you have to do is buy them in advance. You can not, let me repeat that you can not complain later you didn’t have a chance to buy it you did. Snake Mountain was made to order May 1st to May 31st 2019 and is finally arriving. That is about 17 months for those of us that might get one in October 2020. This process is taking a tad longer– Snake Mountain is so big it will take four months to ship them all out.

That gives you that pre ordered them like me some last minute time to really really find or make space for these…seriously, they are huge. No modern toy comes close to how large these playsets are. You are talking to a guy that has both the U.S.S Flagg and a Sectaurs Hive in his house already. Even with HasLab’s crowd funded Sailbarges and Unicrons this is a much bigger accomplishment. A smaller toy company made the unthinkable in a day we can not even have figures on shelves. They are shipping, Snake Mountain has arrived, and no playset will ever eclipse its glory.

Snake Mountain is finally here! We started shipping out of the factory in early September and the first boxes are arriving now. To give you a sense of scale, only 81 boxes fit in a shipping container! Because of that it will take a full FOUR months to ship all the Snake Mountains to everyone, that means we will start shipping now, but will still be shipping them until January. I apologize in advance to those who get them earlier and are subjected to the anger of others, as well as to the folks that are at the end who may grow weary of the anticipation. I wish it could be done faster, but we will literally be shipping multiple containers a week out of the factory and delivering them as quickly as we can. The Masters of the Universe Collector’s Choice Snake Mountain Playset

Snake Mountain will come packaged in a deluxe art box (measuring approximately 25″ x 25″ x 28″). For delivery this will be wrapped in protective paper and protected with inner foam corners and shipped in a larger plain (no logos) protective outer shipping box.
