Bandai is doing Sailor Moon fans a solid and showing off new images of its upcoming Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune Figuarts Mini toys. This new line of toys are replacing the Tamashi Buddies that were all of the hotness a few years back. This year, fans were treated to the Inner Senshi, which each cost about $23 and were distributed by Bluefin Brands. Hopefully, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune will receive similar price treatment.
The designs for these two seem to be somewhat of a mashup of the character’s original 90s versions and the current (more manga inspired) Sailor Moon Crystal. This is apparent with Sailor Uranus’ long-bladed silver sword (instead of the 90s gold pirate style sword), pale wheat colored hair (instead of 90s sandy blonde) and her pale blue eyes (instead of green). However, on Sailor Neptune, we have short hair like in the 90s anime instead of the wavy tresses spilling down her back and more elongated face. I’ve been seeing more of these little touches and details that don’t always make sense in the new toys, such as Luna’s bright blue eyes instead of her auburn ones in the Puffy Fluffy toys.
Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune will be appearing elegantly and marvelously and all that appearance speech kind of stuff in Spring 2021.
