Toy Theory: The Toy Zone is touting these as Polly Pocket reimaginings because they forgot Mighty Max existed.
I’ve been on a wild tangent recently, discussing Polly Pocket and its place in pop culture. In fact, I tend to include the toys in one of my favorite conversations; can girls toys come back for the collector’s market, or are they doomed for constant rebirths because the female collectors market is constantly underestimated?
By taking the idea of miniature toys redone in the style of TV homes, TheToyZone took out the work of a larger conversation. Perhaps Mattel will get the idea for tiny He-Man sets, like Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain. Maybe Barbie can have a shrunken dream house. Ooh, maybe UNO can have that color kid headquarters I’m always rambling about. All shrunken, tiny, and compact.
A girl can dream.
TheToyZone reached out to Toy Wizards in hopes of receiving additional press on their artist’s CGI creations. And truly it was our delight to show off these creations in case the original article on their site didn’t make the rounds hard enough. So together, let us peek! Included in the fictional wave of “What If” Polly Pocket style toys are:

- The Royal Tenenbaums

Polly Pocket has made giant leaps and bounds since Chris Wiggs first built a tiny dollhouse in a powder compact for his daughter, Kate, in 1983. Over the years it has been relaunched, redesigned, and publicized with spin-off shows and a trilogy of movies. But why shouldn’t Polly Pocket ‘do a LEGO’ and absorb a popular franchise or two? Where’s our teeny-weeny Polly Pocket: Death Star Edition? Taking things into their own hands, The Toy Zone recreated Polly Pockets in the style of 6 fictional on-screen franchises: Say hello to micro versions of Stranger Things, The Simpsons, Lord of the Rings and more:

The Shining one is cool!!
I would put these in my mouth, but, only after I bought one for my non-gender conforming niece (and I also bought a Tamagotchi, hoping this one would also have a good story, like in Japantown) where they have Digimon posters and local artist kids, training, in teh Nippon Import Hobby Shoppe and Video-Arcade.
