Japanese toy maker Kotobukiya has revealed a new addition to their My Little Pony Bishoujo line just in time for New York Comic Con. The freshest culprit to their line up? It’s Rainbow Dash, arguably the most popular character in the explosively popular My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series, which just wrapped its final season.
Rainbow Dash isn’t painted, and she’s still in the prototype phase, but this piece will very likely get MLP collectors (and Bishoujo statue line enthusiasts) quite excited.
But wait– did you not know that Japanese toy/statue maker Kotobukiya had a line of My Little Pony inspired pieces? Well grab hold of your socks and read on, my friend, because you’re about to learn about them all! See which of these pieces are available now, which are on preorder, and which will be more difficult to get. As mentioned, Rainbow Dash is in the prototype phase. But check out the figures below for their status:
The first to join is the talkative party girl Pinkie Pie! This sweet pony has been transformed into a Bishoujo statue by famous illustrator Shunya Yamashita.
Pinkie Pie comes dressed in a pink shirt decorated with her favorite sweet treat and a puffy frilly skirt that gives a sense of lightheartedness. Based on her appearance in Equestria Girls, this original Bishoujo statue is packed with details that embody Japan’s unique “KAWAII” street fashion. This nearly 9 inch Pinky Pie statue is in-stock at BBTS and costs $89.99.
Twilight Sparkle is the next of the “My Little Pony” crew to join the Bishoujo figure lineup from Kotobukiya! Designed by Shunya Yamashita, she’s based on the “Equestria Girls” version of this popular character, and she’s rocking her trademark schoolgirl style and glasses, with distinctive colourful stripes in her long, lustrous hair too. She is 8.5 inches tall, costs $89.99 and is in-stock to purchase today from BBTS.
WARNING: PREORDERS ARE SOLD OUT.
The kind-hearted Fluttershy is the third to join the Bishoujo series!
Featured in the popular My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series, this figure was sculpted and painted based on the series illustrator Shunya Yamashita’s design.
The sculpting of Fluttershy’s soft pink hair and her flowy sundress were created with care, and the pony statue sitting quietly at her feet is the embodiment of kindness itself.
Like the previous entries in the series, the pony’s long eyelashes have been recreated with delicate sculpting, giving the statue an elevated level of beauty. Both the Bishoujo and pony are so realistic, you can practically hear them speaking to you in Fluttershy’s soft voice! This piece will be released January 2020, but unfortunately preorders are sold out on Big Bad Toy Store and Hobbylink Japan.
Rarity is the next of the My Little Pony crew to join the Bishoujo figure lineup from Kotobukiya! Designed by Shunya Yamashita, Rarity is based on her Equestria Girls appearance and featured at her feet is her pony alter ego. She stands 8.66 inches tall, has an MSRP of $89.99, and will ship May 2020. She is available for preorder today.
All Kotobukiya is missing is Apple Jacks, who will probably be reveals by the end of the year or Q1 2020 and then your Bishoujo Little Pony lineup will be complete!
