Hasbro Pulse Opens Crowdfunding For Transformers: War For Cybertron Unicron Figure

The Lord of Chaos. The Planet Eater. The Chaos Bringer. Unicron stands alone as the most menacing figure in Transformers lore, capable of devouring entire worlds and civilizations. He debuted in the 1986 film Transformers: The Movie and his insatiable appetite nearly brought the entire universe to its knees.

But his legacy transcends both space and time….

They sure make it sound cool, right?

The Unicron is the first Haslab creation from the Transformers universe. If fully funded, it will be the biggest Transformers figure ever created from Hasbro, standing 27 inches tall with 50 points of articulation. That’s three inches taller than Metroplex just in his horn alone.

Let’s take a look at this funding effort itself for a moment. This campaign will move into production when it reaches its minimum goal of 8,000 backers. And the amount you’re agreeing to if supported is astronomical. The terms and agreements have you promise to pledge $574.99. In a month and a half. $575 times 8,000 people is $4,600,000. That’s four million, six hundred thousand dollars. With that price tag, fans are really hungry to see something that’s more than just a bit bigger than the Titan Class series.

From a fan base that gets upset that Optimus Prime without his trailer in a G1 box costs $50.

But hey…people paid for the wooden boat with three curtains on top, so…
