WonderCon 2019 came and went, and what did we Toy Wizards focus on?
That’s right– the copious amounts of toys that were available at the show. Most specifically, our grail item for the show was definitely the WonderCon exclusive Macross VF-1S Valkyrie from Toynami! If you check out the video above, you can see Toy Wizards Scott Zillner and Loryn Stone on the hunt for them, where we scooped up on extra one for YOU and had it signed by box artist Jay Sullivan! Details on how to win it will be at the bottom of this article!
There were so many awesome toys and toy booths set up at WonderCon, but one of our favorite sights was definitely seeing the new Evangelion Metal build that caused all the trouble recently in the Japanese toy collecting and production community and spurred a reissue by Bandai!
While the attendance at WonderCon wasn’t as high as it had been in previous years, that doesn’t affect that toy exhibitors had some seriously amazing product. I mean, how many shows can you scope out toys and just stumble across a Voltes V figure?!
One of the best parts of the show, other than us Toy Wizards getting an extra Macross VF-1S Valkyrie toy from Toynami to give away to you was seeing the Gundam building tables set up around the Bluefin Brands booth. It’s always really nice when a company isn’t simply selling their products, but really nurturing and encouraging the culture, fandom, and social elements behind it.
