Based on the likeness of Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight (or as one of the Wizard’s called it “The only Joker we have likeness rights to”) and Danny Devito’s Penguin from Batman Returns, Mattel has unveiled their official First Look at the upcoming DC Multiverse line of figures.
They are available for Pre-Order for $29.99.
These figures appear, at first glance, to be made from a pretty solid mold. That is of course, if Mattel is able to keep the prototype and the actual product looking the same. While undeniably neat looking, comments from fans state that it’s actually the Jack Nicholson Joker they’re waiting for. And really, based on era, that would have made a lot more sense if Penguin and Nicholson’s Joker were released together. Start from the beginning and work your way through the films.
Jim Carrey’s Riddler is on my list too, please. I mean…Val Kilmer’s Batman exists, so…
